2018 HOST LOCATIONS
Art Walk Stoughton brings together local and regional artists, local Stoughton businesses, and our own community, resulting in a vibrant, unique cultural event. Historic Stoughton shops, restaurants, and galleries in the downtown Arts & Entertainment District make the Art Walk possible.
To begin your Art Walk, simply pick up an event guide at one of the many host locations along Main Street in Stoughton. While you’re there, say hello and get to know the people and history of Stoughton – experience the small-town charm and friendliness as only Stoughton can provide, and enjoy the many creations of local and regional artists.
STOUGHTON OPERA HOUSE
381 East Main Street
The theater plays host to a wide variety of musical and theatrical performances throughout the season - rock, folk, classical, oddities, comedy...you name it. Known for sublime acoustics and an early 20th century aesthetic, don't pass on a chance to pay a visit to the Stoughton Opera House. The Opera House will host two artists on Art Walk Day and offer backstage tours.

Our gallery is located in a restored building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and features paintings, photography, pottery, jewelry, and sculpture. Our frame shop features over 3,000 choices. Our print shop offers large format printing on fine art papers, canvas and other materials.

STOUGHTON VILLAGE PLAYERS

Stoughton Village Players is a community based not-for-profit theater company. We produce 3 to 4 shows each year that are staged in our historic theater in downtown Stoughton. We are an entirely volunteer organization that has been performing for 45 years. We are proud to be a vital part of the Stoughton arts community.
STOUGHTON PUBLIC LIBRARY

Stoughton Public Library has been serving the community since 1908 in its current building and is one of 2,509 historic libraries built with money donated by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. A decision was made to expand the building in 1988, and today the library is a union of old and new architecture.
LAZ BISTRO BBQ & BAR

Established in 2005, Laz Bistro is located near Stoughton's City Hall and Opera House. The quaint and charming restaurant is recognized as serving the best Kansas City BBQ outside Kansas City. The bistro offers world cuisine and comfort foods including: Mediterranean, Asian, Cajun, Cuban, Caribbean, and more dishes and seafood specialties prepared with a touch of imagination by chef Cary Lazzaro (Laz) and staff. LAZZARO FINE ART STUDIO

Richard Lazzaro has been a prominent advocate for abstract painting for more than sixty years as an artist and teacher. Lazzaro studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art, Kent State University, and the University of Illinois. He is an Emeritus Professor at the Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison where he taught drawing and painting from 1963 - 2001 and served as Graduate Program Chairman and 2-D Area Chairman during his tenure. His art has been in exhibitions around the world and across the United States and is in more than 400 private collections in the United States, Canada, China, England , Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Taiwan, and Ukraine.
